Traps ultrafine particles

Ultrafine particles are smaller than 0.1 microns, make up about 90% of all airborne particles and have been linked to heart attacks, strokes, asthma, respiratory conditions, and even cancer. IQAir HyperHEPA filtration in the GC and GCX Series filters 95% of all particles down to 0.003 microns – the smallest particles that exist, including airborne viruses and bacteria.

Proven to filter critical biological contaminants

IQAir’s HyperHEPA technology has been tested and proven to filter biological contaminants such as bacteria, viruses in their airborne state – viruses like aspergillosis, MRSA, and SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. HyperHEPA filtration was used by the Hong Kong Hospital Authority to help protect staff and patients during the SARS-CoV-1 epidemic in 2003 and the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in 2020.

Smoke and tobacco control

The less secondhand smoke you breathe, the better. Tobacco smoke contains more than 4,000 different chemicals, 60 of which are known carcinogens. These various elements are a mix of liquids, gases, and solid particles. The GC and GCX Series offers unrivaled protection against both particles and gases.

Delivers the purest air possible

⦁   HyperHEPA particle filtration features a powerful HyperHEPA pre-filter that traps particles of all sizes, including ultrafine particles and airborne contaminants like viruses.

⦁   Cartridge-based activated carbon adsorption filters volatile organic compounds (VOCs) responsible for odors.

⦁   Cartridge-based chemisorption filters harmful chemicals, such as formaldehyde, by an oxidation process inside a chemically active alumina pellet.

⦁   Post-filter sleeve wraps each gas cartridge to prevent release of media dust.

Four models

Specialized configurations of 4 cylindrical cartridges in each system contain up to 32 lbs. of gas-phase media and provide maximum control for specific air quality problems.

Best media, superior filtration

The GC and GCX Series feature the highest-quality filter media available beginning with the highest quality, exceptionally porous, activated bituminous-coal carbon in its gas-phase filtration cartridges, blended with chemisorbers that target volatile organic compounds in the air, including formaldehyde, and pelletized aluminum oxide impregnated with potassium permanganate to filter a wide spectrum of gases, odors and chemicals.

Certified performance

IQAir looks beyond theoretical claims, testing the performance of each individual GC and GCX Series system at the factory to ensure that it meets our strict specifications. The results of the tests are detailed in a hand-signed Certificate of Performance, which is included with every air purifier. No GC or GCX Series air purifier will be shipped from the factory unless it is certified to provide a minimum of 99% efficiency against particles, including airborne contaminants like viruses and bacteria.
